God’s Lifesaving Gift To Humanity Via Jesus’ Crucifixion

None fathomed the seemingly senseless horror behind God allowing his own child to suffer such shocking brutality and humiliating wretchedness (which was fiercer than anyone has or will ever endure upon this earth).

No onlookers understood as Jesus willingly bled on the grueling cross the reason God, his good father, gave no protection to his dear son, and even extended Jesus’ grief by abandoning this child.

Except via holy intervention, how could anyone absorb God’s sacred purpose, a perfected lifesaving gift to humanity through the permitting of inhumanity?

Thus, how can our limited understanding assimilate a passionate God’s preeminent purpose in tolerating wars, starvation, fires, sex trafficking, and abuse of animals, children, and all others?

Our absence and distance from God is not his abandonment of us.

It is easy enough to say, “We live in a fallen world”, but when such sufferings occur, we need to know God has not abandoned us to this fallen world.

If we are living our lives actively trusting in The Lord, we can know with 100% certainty that He has not left us to find our own path out of the horrors we experience.

Piercing Questions

We cannot survive the above piercing questions with haphazard faith or obligated hope. But we can know God is trustworthy by the concrete proof of our own intimately personal experiences of His divine knowledge and consuming love in our lives: from the most recent last drop of water we swallowed, bite of healthy nourishment we ingested, precious air we inhaled, to the hug from our child, or our encounters of generosity through other’s kindness which God has blessed us with to aid in the satiation of our constant bodily and spiritual hungers.

The absence of what we call the smallest of blessings would inflict the biggest of hurts.

God’s lifesaving gift to humanity via Jesus’ crucifixion bears witness to our Father’s perfect purpose, sacrificial love, and supernatural wisdom which he carries out in his overall plan for each individual.

I do not have the answers but I do know, without question, God is Good, he knows what he’s doing, and we can trust him. Until we get to Heaven, and the veil of our spiritual grogginess is lifted, this is all we need to know.

James 1:17

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows

Romans 3:11

No one understands; no one seeks for God

Romans 3:10-18

None is righteous, no, not one;
no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”
“Their throat is an open grave;
they use their tongues to deceive.”
“The venom of asps is under their lips.”
“Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”
“Their feet are swift to shed blood;
in their paths are ruin and misery,
and the way of peace they have not known.”
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

  1. Amen. When we look at what goes on in this world there is going to always be many, many questions and perhaps confused thoughts. That is, if we look at things from the natural side.

    This reminds me to trust in God, the way a child trusts. Trusting in His sovereignty, in His goodness, and in His provision.

    Knowing the scriptures are being fulfilled.
    Knowing His ways are not my ways. There are going to be questions.

    However, I am not trying to really question too much or understand too many things, but pray about things and trust in Him. A trust which comes from the faith He has given to
    me. Great post.
